About Me

“We repeat what we don’t repair.”

—Christine Langley-Obaugh

Dr. Bertie Wai is an English-Cantonese bilingual clinical psychologist providing therapy for children, teens, adults, and couples. Clinically trained in the U.S. and Hong Kong, she works from the psychoanalytic psychotherapy and the Tavistock Relationships models. A non-directive therapist, she approaches therapy from the framework of understanding how the unique personality structure, emotional sensibilities and relational needs contribute to or hinder a client’s wellbeing. Once maladaptive coping patterns are brought to light, clients can work on changes to resolve long-standing issues that keep them stuck in a way of life that is unsatisfactory.
