There are many reasons to seek therapy. (See common reasons for seeking help.) There are also many reasons not to seek therapy.
If your reason for coming to therapy is that you are feeling absolutely miserable, and you want to stop feeling like that. Then, you are in a bind. Because when you come to therapy you put yourself in a situation that you try very hard to avoid: to face the exact things that make you feel miserable in the first page. You might go “why?”
